<p>Relax on this 3.5-hour drive, arriving in Agra at approximately 06:15 just in time for a great view of the sunrise over the Taj Mahal.</p>
<p>On arrival, you will meet with your tour guide and see a great view of the sunrise over the Taj Mahal.</p> <p>Marvel at the spectacular marble mausoleum from the outside, before looking inside the temple dedicated to Mumtaz Mahal, the beloved wife of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.</p> <p>Later, continue to the nearby Red Fort (Agra Fort) to see the beautiful pavilions of the walled city.</p>
<p>Built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D, this huge fort is made of red sandstone. The elegant buildings inside reflect an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles.</p> <p>The maze of the courtyards, mosques & private chambers of the fort echoes the story of the Mughal Empire.</p>

<p>Fatehpur Sikri (A UNESCO World Heritage Site) (approx. 1-hours drive from Agra).</p> <p>It has been described as “The world’s most perfectly preserved ghost town”. Built by Akbar in the late 16th century, it was abandoned after only 14 years, and the elegant buildings of this superb walled city remain intact to this day.</p>
<p>Enjoy a photo tour of the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh.</p> <p>The Moonlight Garden, believed to have been designed by Shah Jahan to view the Taj on moonlight nights, far away from the maddening crowd, The garden complex is situated on the left bank of the Yamuna opposite the Taj Mahal.</p> <p>Mehtab Bagh was originally built by Emperor Babur to protect the Taj from the erosive effects of the sand blown across the river, but the park was reconstructed and is now one the best places from which you can view the great mausoleum.</p> <p>It is a huge square measuring approximately 300x300 m and in straight alignment with the Taj Mahal. The forestry plantations and agricultural fields provide a green forecourt to Taj Mahal and its reflection in the Yamuna.</p>
<p>You may wish to enjoy shopping in Agra as it is known for its fabulous handicrafts, made of marble and soft stone inlay work.</p> <p>The Mughals were great patrons of arts and crafts and the Empress Nur Jahan took a personal interest and was an accomplished artist herself in zari embroidery work.</p> <p>Agra's major handicraft products besides inlay work are: leather ware, brass ware, carpets, jewellery and embroidery work.</p>
